ANALYZING UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Although the full financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic remains uncertain, many colleges and universities in recent weeks have frozen new hiring, sought cuts in pay and benefits, and announced staff reductions.
While the situation varies from one institution to another, it is important that all academic staff associations have the skills to interrogate the financial claims being made by their administrations.
Join Drs. Janet and Cameron Morrill, both associate professors of accounting at the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, and authors of CAUT’s Guide to Analyzing University & College Financial Statements, for a 3-part training session. You can find the guide under the collective bargaining resources, post-secondary institutions financial statements in the members’ area of the CAUT website at www.caut.ca.
